BACS is an acronym for Bureaux Aldsar Cataloguing System. This database started in 1996. It now contains 7518 postcards records of Haiti with pictures of each card. Also each record has dozen of fields of information and data on the postcard, such as earliest date of usage, who printed, photographed, how many cards have been seen, estimated market value, subjects (for search or research) etc.
Also a list of all 502 publishers is to be found on the Publishers tab, with the number of cards reported for each of them. This clue is important for those who collect a particular name, as they can gauge how their collection stands against the production of that publisher.
Thr most prolific publishers were: Benoît Couba, with 677 postcards, Paul Couba (511), Byron Coroneos (380).
Any cards that you may have could be reported and scan images sent to add to the database and provenance and contribution will be recorded.
I think your blog is doing quite well and you’re adding more informtion and at a faster rate than I thought would be possible. Keep up the good work.
